Mountain View 1 and 2 (sleeps up to 4 each) are our largest, most secluded cottages and are located toward the rear of the estate. Built in the late 1800's this was the home for the Property Manger and the horse riding teacher for the Richwood Plantation Riding School for Young Women (1891- 1969). Both cottages in Mountain View have a full kitchen with automatic dishwasher, full size refrigerator w/ice maker, large oven/stove, big microwave, coffee maker and many kitchen cabinets. The huge living/dining area has a stone, wood-burning fireplace, satellite TV, DVD/CD player, and a spacious, rear covered porch with a wonderful view. The separate bedroom has a king-size bed, satellite TV, DVD/CD player and a full bath that also connects to the living room. The rear, glass wall of both cottages have a big, sliding glass door that leads out to the huge, covered back porch. The living area and the porch overlook a 50+ acre field blanketed with tall grasses bordering a spectacular tree filled hillside running East and West as far as the eye can see. Watch deer and wild turkey roam the field and hillside both early morning and late evening. Enjoy absolute peace and quiet, along with total solace. Sitting on your back porch, you'll feel like you're in the middle of a nature preserve. Though secluded, your cottage is a short walk along curving paths to the pool, pond, Laundry Hut, Plantation Home and parking. The full kitchen makes it perfect for that long vacation you always wanted to take, but didn't think you could afford. Save money on restaurants and stay a while longer with us. You'll be glad you did. |
